Frequently Asked Questions About The Tour

What skill level is needed for a kayak tour?

The paddle is 30-35 minutes one way, totaling 1 hour. We recommend you being in generally “good shape”. Kayaking is a bit of a workout, however, experience is not required. You also must be able to get in/out a floating kayak without assistance. If you or someone within your party has a physical disability, please call before booking to see if we can accommodate.

How early must I arrive to the boat ramp?

30 minutes prior, please. We must give you an orientation prior to departure and also have to pack your things on the kayak. This allows us to push off “on schedule” or early. Please give yourself a few minutes time to find parking as well. There is free street parking and metered parking nearby.

Can children come on tour?

Yes, however the child must be at least 12 years old and have the physical capability of paddling to and from the tour destination. A minor (under 18) is required to wear a life vest provided by us.

Must we know how to swim?

Yes, safety is priority. Anyone that is participating in the tour must know how to swim as a basic survival skill. Failure to know how will result in immediate cancellation of the tour.

What should I bring?

  • Sun Screen

  • Swimsuit

  • Water Shoes (highly recommend)

  • Towel

  • Cell Phone (dry storage on kayak is available)

  • We’ve literally got the rest.

Why is there about 1 hour of beach time on the 2 hour tour?

There is no other kayak trip on Clearwater Beach that offers “beach time”. Everyone else gives you about 15- 30 minutes of time on land before you must paddle back. We want you to experience the island as a local would. Sit back, relax, and enjoy the waters away from the tourist crowds. There’s no rush with 727 Watersports.

I am an adult, must I wear a life vest?

No, however we as a business are required to provide you a life vest for each participant on each vessel. If you feel more comfortable wearing one, then great. It’s hot & we get it, the less layers the better. Our kayaks are incredibly sturdy and meant for salt water conditions. The likelihood of falling in is slim to none.

Is there a weight limit?

Our single and tandems have a high weight capacity. We purposely purchased top of the line kayaks for your comfort. If you weigh over 300 lbs, we strongly encourage you to rent our single kayak and not our tandem for the tour.

What makes you different than the others?

A lot. You will notice that you will not find a more comfortable kayak for rental within the tour industry. From dry storage, to comfortable seating, and overall heavy kayaks, we did not want to cut corners on quality. We are the only tour on CWB and surrounding area that uses high end fishing kayaks (for stability) while staying at a similar price to our competition.

What if I want my family to have a private tour?

As of right now, we only have 4 kayaks to rent on each tour slot, however, if you want to guarantee a private tour and you have booked less than 4 kayaks, for an additional cost we will block out that tour time for your family/ friends to enjoy a private experience. Please call in advance to further discuss.
